Bitcoin Mining Complete Guide & Tutorial (EASIEST METHOD Working 2018)

04:48
Video tutorial/guide showing how to start mining Bitcoins from home super simple and easily, for beginners, or advanced users, using NiceHash. Bitcoins are a cryptocurrency, like Litecoins and Ethereum which offer an anonymous form of digital currency. This video will show you how to setup a bitcoin wallet, download and install the mining program (nicehash), link it up to your wallet using the bitcoin address, and use the optimal algorithm for mining the most bitcoins and earning the money. Mining these Bitcoins is a way to introduce new bitcoins into the world, as well as verify transactions occurring in the blockchain. You can earn bitcoins and money, by mining at home from your very own PC computer. I also include some tips which helped me mine! Techlore Website: http://www.techlore.tech My Video Equipment (Affiliate Link): https://www.amazon.com/shop/influencer20170928875 Instagram: @techlemur Discord: https://discord.gg/sdMv9Zj Minds: https://www.minds.com/Techlore DTube: https://d.tube/#!/c/techlore *ATTENTION* Nicehash has updated their program and the UI is very different from this video. I made an updated video so you can all follow along. Here is the link. Use the new program with Nvidia Cards: UPDATED VIDEO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XnAjCMb_uEg Coinbase Link: https://www.coinbase.com/join/5942e0b5d26ede03db311893 NiceHash Link: https://www.nicehash.com/?p=nhmintro You should mine with a powerful Graphics Card (GPU), and only on desktop computers (Not laptops). You need a bitcoin wallet like Coinbase, and you will need NiceHash. Make sure to benchmark your algorithms to get the most amount of bitcoins. Bitcoin mining is the process of adding transaction records to Bitcoin's public ledger of past transactions or blockchain. This ledger of past transactions is called the block chain as it is a chain of blocks. The block chain serves to confirm transactions to the rest of the network as having taken place. Bitcoin nodes use the block chain to distinguish legitimate Bitcoin transactions from attempts to re-spend coins that have already been spent elsewhere.

I wanted to demonstrate that the concept of a blockchain that powers almost all of the modern cryptocurrencies is very simple at its core. Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin etc all are based on this blockchain technology. Many people think that the blockchain is a complicated thing while at it's core its just a clever use case of hashes. Intro To Geth: Create Your Private Ethereum Blockchain - in 5 mins

04:29
Welcome to this introduction to Geth. In this video, we will learn about Geth, which is the most popular client for the Ethereum blockchain app platform. We will also learn how to download, install and configure Geth. Finally, we will learn to create an Ethereum account using Geth. Let’s start with a quick overview of Geth. Geth is the C L I or command line interface for running a full Ethereum node. It is implemented in the Go programming language, but does not require its users to have proficiency in Go. It is free to download and install. Geth supports most major operating systems. In this video, we will focus on the Windows version of Geth. Now let’s look at what Geth can do. Geth can be overwhelming due to its long list of commands, but for now we will focus on three key use cases. First, Geth is used to mine, in other words, to create blocks that are published to the Ethereum blockchain. The miner receives Ethereum currency or “Ether” as a reward for doing so. Secondly, Geth is used to create and manage Ethereum accounts. Accounts can store Ether. Geth also lets you transfer Ether between accounts . This transfer of Ether between accounts is known as a transaction. Lastly , Geth is used to create contracts. Contracts can receive transfers just like regular accounts. However, they can also receive more complicated transactions that run code, and optionally, update the state of the contract. In this series of videos, we will build a simple contract using Geth. Note that we will not be mining any real Ether currency in this video. We’ll need to do a couple of things before we can dive into Geth. First, download and install Geth by going to the download page on the Ethereum site. Choose the Windows 64-bit installer for version 1.5.6, which should work on most modern Windows systems. Run the installer like you would any other installer. Next, we’ve created some helper scripts to make learning Geth easy. Head over to the github URL that you see here. Click the green "clone or download" button, and select "Download zip". Unzip the zip file that is downloaded. You should see a folder called “nugget1”. We will use that folder for our first lab with Geth. Ok, let’s dive into our lab. As a prerequisite, you’ll need to be comfortable using the Windows command line. Some exposure to programming languages is helpful but not required. Now, start the Windows command line. Head into the nugget1 folder. For the purposes of this exercise, we’ll create a private blockchain. Initialize this blockchain with the “genesis block” or first block. Use the helper script genesis to do so. Now that the blockchain has been initialized, let’s create our first account. We will use the Javascript console that comes with Geth. Start this console using the helper script "console". Once the console is up and running, type “personal.new Account” to create your first account. Provide a password that you can remember. You will be asked to enter it twice. Geth responds with a long hex string that represents your account address. Congratulations! You have created your first Ethereum account on your own private Ethereum network! So let’s recap what we learned today. We learned about the key features of Geth, how to download and install it, how to start a new blockchain, and how to create an account. Stay tuned for the next video in this series! *** Note: Comments were turned off. This channel is built on spare time, and the author was unable to answer Ethereum technical questions. On that note, if you missed my last post about “why 99% of ICO will Fail” I recommend that you read that first The reality of today is. Blockchain promises this. ...But delivers that. Too many people are feeding the hype and promise of this amazing tech way before it has time to mature. So I just want you to read this point to understand that we are a long way before we can scale and deliver on the promise. Big Elephant in the room is scalability Blockchain consensus protocols like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tendermint make a tradeoff between low transaction output and being an open source decentralized system vs a Centralized system. As the size of the blockchain grows, the requirements for storage, bandwidth, and compute power, goes up and up and up. Why does this cause a problem? Because every fully participating node in the network must process every transaction. Meaning each node, for the most part, needs to download and update the whole blockchain. Remember that blockchains have one inherent critically important characteristic — “decentralization” — which means that every single node on the network processes every transaction and maintains a copy of the entire state. In order to scale, blockchain protocols must figure out a mechanism to limit the number of participating nodes needed to validate each transaction, without losing the network’s trust I will give you an example with Ethereum This is via Fred Ershan “At the moment, Ethereum can handle about 13 transactions per second, which cuts in half to about 7 transactions per second for tokens (4.7m gas limit, 21k avg gas price for standard txn = ~220 standard txns every block, current avg block time 17s = 13 txns/sec, gas requirement roughly doubles for token transactions). And this doesn’t include more expensive smart contract execution. By this estimate we’re roughly 250x off being able to run a 10m user app and 25,000x off being able to run Facebook on chain. And since these systems are open rather than proprietary, we’ll see applications bigger than Facebook. This estimate isn’t perfect because the dApp stack functions differently in places than the current Web 2.0 stack. But I believe it’s in the right ballpark. This is why I believe scalability will be the primary bottleneck for the industry for the foreseeable future.” Where do we go from here? Simple answer. We need to be working more on protocol layers for scaling for both scaling transactions and also scaling security protocols. Some that come to mind are. Plasma Cosmos Lighting network Ethereum Casper - POS Etc… All of these are still under development and it will take years before we see the speed and security that we need in order to sustain the hype that blockchain promises. And this why I stress the education part on ICO's. It's scary when you see all of these ICO's raise millions that are building on top of protocols that won't be ready for years. Bottom line. We have a long way to go! Today I want to explain the basics of a blockchain and what is required to make it work. So first, let’s explore how the idea of a blockchain came into existence. Satoshi Nakamoto, the anonymous creator of Bitcoin, is who we should also thank for the invention of the blockchain. The blockchain was created as the means to accomplish peer-to-peer value transfer that provides a way to ensure that each bitcoin is legitimate and each transaction is verified and cannot be double spent. A blockchain is basically a group of transactions that have been verified by the distributed network and are organized into what are called blocks. Once these blocks are filled, they are then verified and added to the chain. They essentially lock in the blocks that preceded them. It is in this way that a blockchain forms a public ledger where these transactions can be viewed. This also makes it difficult to alter these transactions in a way that allows shady players to falsify transactions for their benefit. It’s important to note that although these transactions themselves are public, the individuals who participated in the transactions, their addresses are kept somewhat anonymous. For the sake of keeping things clear, this video will be focusing on the Bitcoin Blockchain. In order for the blockchain to function, there needs to be some key actors called nodes and miners. The network is what organizes these transactions into the blocks and verifies that the transactions are legitimate. These are the jobs filled by what are called Nodes and Miners. Miners have a couple different roles in the Bitcoin blockchain. They create new bitcoins by running a specific computer program that after time unlocks a certain amount of Bitcoin that is awarded to them. They also are the ones responsible for creating the blocks of the blockchain. They organize transactions into these blocks and send these blocks to what are called Nodes to be verified. If their block is selected to be put in the blockchain they are rewarded with what are called block rewards in addition to a percentage of the transaction fees paid by those conducting the transactions. Nodes are responsible for more or less monitoring the entire blockchain and ensuring that fraudulent transactions can not occur. It is the distribution of these nodes that ensures the entire network cannot be manipulated by individuals who wish to create fake transactions for their own monetary benefit. A benefit for being a node for the Bitcoin blockchain, in addition to further securing the network, is that it gives you complete control of your investment in Bitcoin. The downside to being a node is that you are required to download the entire Bitcoin blockchain, this takes up a lot of space and time. Just because the idea of a blockchain began as a way to establish true peer to peer value transfer does not mean this new type of technology is limited to just that. This technology can be applied in ways that remove the time and cost of third party middlemen in different areas of business.

Blockchain tutorial 27: Bitcoin raw transaction and transaction id

12:17
This is part 27 of the Blockchain tutorial. This tutorial explains: - What Bitcoin raw transaction is. - Shows an example of a raw transaction using the very first transaction on the Genesis block. - What the difference is between big endian and little endian. - What a satoshi is. - What a Bitcoin transaction id or hash is and what its purpose is. - How to calculate the transaction id. In this video series different topics will be explained which will help you to understand blockchain. Bitcoin released as open source software in 2009 is a cryptocurrency invented by Satoshi Nakamoto (unidentified person or group of persons). After the introduction of Bitcoin many Bitcoin alternatives were created. These alternate cryptocurrencies are called Altcoins (Litecoin, Dodgecoin etc). Bitcoin's underlying technology is called Blockchain. The Blockchain is a distributed decentralized incorruptible database (ledger) that records blocks of digital information. Each block contains a timestamp and a link to a previous block. Soon people realises that there many other use cases where the Blockchain technology can be applied and not just as a cryptocurrency application. New Blockchain platforms were created based on the Blockchain technology, one of which is called Ethereum. Ethereum focuses on running programming code, called smart contracts, on any decentralized application. Using the new Blockchain platforms, Blockchain technology can be used in supply chain management, healthcare, real estate, identity management, voting, internet of things, etcetera, just to name a few. Today there is a growing interest in Blockchain not only in the financial sector but also in other sectors. Explaining how Blockchain works is not easy and for many the Blockchain technology remains an elusive concept. This video series tries to explain Blockchain to a large audience but from the bottom up. Keywords often used in Blockchain conversation will be explained. Each Blockchain video is short and to the point. It is recommended to watch each video sequentially as I may refer to certain Blockchain topics explained earlier. Was sind Bitcoin und Kryptowährungen? (Ebook als Download)

00:34
Understand the Blockchain in Two Minutes

02:26
Over the past decade, an alternative digital paradigm has slowly been taking shape at the edges of the internet. This new paradigm is the blockchain. After incubating through millions of Bitcoin transactions and a host of developer projects, it is now on the tips of tongues of CEOs and CTOs, startup entrepreneurs, and even governance activists. Though these stakeholders are beginning to understand the disruptive potential of blockchain technology and are experimenting with its most promising applications, few have asked a more fundamental question: What will a world driven by blockchains look like a decade from now? Bitcoin Miner - What is a Bitcoin Miner? - Video

02:27
Bitcoin Miner - What is a Bitcoin Miner? Win FREE Bitcoins here: http://win-free-bitcoins.com ... Today !! https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Bitcoin Bitcoin is a decentralized P2P electronic cash system without a central server or trusted parties. Users hold the cryptographic keys to their own money and make transactions directly with each other, with the help of the network to check for double-spending. Bitcoins, usually denoted by BTC (i.e. '144 BTC'), can also be exchanged for traditional currencies like US dollars. The Bitcoin network runs on peer-to-peer networking, digital signatures and cryptographic proof to make and verify transactions. Nodes broadcast transactions to the network, which records them in a public record of all transactions, called the block chain. A block is a record of some or all of the most recent Bitcoin transactions that have not yet been recorded in any prior blocks. In order to preserve the integrity of the block chain, each block in the chain confirms the integrity of the previous one, all the way back to the first one, using hashing. New bitcoins are generated by the network through the process of mining. Mining involves inserting a new block into the current block chain, this is difficult because it requires generating a valid hash (in this case a large integer). A variation in difficulty is achieved by requiring that this integer is below a certain threshold - the data in the block is perturbed by a nonce value, until the data in the block hashes to produce an integer below the threshold - which takes a lot of processing power. The threshold is set by the number of people currently mining for bitcoins so as to achieve a general speed of about 1 block every 10 minutes. The Bitcoin and Blockchain Technology Explained

06:16
A block chain is a transaction database shared by all nodes participating in a system based on the Bitcoin protocol. A full copy of a currency's block chain contains every transaction ever executed in the currency. With this information, one can find out how much value belonged to each address at any point in history. ------------------------------------------------------------------- BUY BITCOIN SAFELY HERE: http://bit.ly/BuyBitcoinNow ------------------------------------------------------------------- REGISTER FOR A COINBASE ACCOUNT: http://bit.ly/CoinbaseBitcoinSignup ------------------------------------------------------------------- Every block contains a hash of the previous block. This has the effect of creating a chain of blocks from the genesis block to the current block. Each block is guaranteed to come after the previous block chronologically because the previous block's hash would otherwise not be known. Each block is also computationally impractical to modify once it has been in the chain for a while because every block after it would also have to be regenerated. These properties are what make double-spending of bitcoins very difficult. The block chain is the main innovation of Bitcoin. Honest generators only build onto a block (by referencing it in blocks they create) if it is the latest block in the longest valid chain. "Length" is calculated as total combined difficulty of that chain, not number of blocks, though this distinction is only important in the context of a few potential attacks. A chain is valid if all of the blocks and transactions within it are valid, and only if it starts with the genesis block. For any block on the chain, there is only one path to the genesis block. Coming from the genesis block, however, there can be forks. One-block forks are created from time to time when two blocks are created just a few seconds apart. When that happens, generating nodes build onto whichever one of the blocks they received first. Whichever block ends up being included in the next block becomes part of the main chain because that chain is longer. More serious forks have occurred after fixing bugs that required backward-incompatible changes. Blocks in shorter chains (or invalid chains) are not used for anything. When the bitcoin client switches to another, longer chain, all valid transactions of the blocks inside the shorter chain are re-added to the pool of queued transactions and will be included in another block. The reward for the blocks on the shorter chain will not be present in the longest chain, so they will be practically lost, which is why a network-enforced 100-block maturation time for generations exists. These blocks on the shorter chains are often called "orphan" blocks. This is because the generation transactions do not have a parent block in the longest chain, so these generation transactions show up as orphan in the listtransactions RPC call. Several pools have misinterpreted these messages and started calling their blocks "orphans". In reality, these blocks have a parent block, and might even have children. Because a block can only reference one previous block, it is impossible for two forked chains to merge. • How do Bitcoin Transactions Work? http://www.coindesk.com/information/how-do-bitcoin-transactions-work/ ------------------------------------------------------------------- DID YOU LIKE THIS VIDEO? ------------------------------------------------------------------- Enjoy this video? 6 Things You Didn't Know About a Blockchain

09:48
Blockchain explained! Here’s how to understand the blockchain & the technology behind Bitcoin & cryptocurrency. A blockchain is essentially a super secure form of record-keeping. It’s made up of a list of digital transactions, information, data, or whatever else you can think of, that are grouped together in “blocks” then added to a row of past blocks to form a “chain,” hence the name “blockchain.” What powers the blockchain is a network of computers (or nodes) working together to verify each transaction & adding it to the chain of blocks so it’s viewable to the public & can’t be changed or edited retroactively. This makes it virtually impossible for human error to ever occur, therefore ensuring the blockchain’s long-lasting integrity. Blockchains operate autonomously, meaning they’re self-governed & their actions are carried out without any outside control or influence whatsoever. In the case of Bitcoin, it solves the problem of double-spending by ensuring that each unique transaction doesn’t occur more than once. Like I said earlier, data on the blockchain is resistant to any modifications. The only time it can be retroactively altered is when a majority of the computers in the network agree to let these modifications take place. But doing so consequently alters subsequent blocks. If I wanted to send you $1,000 using a traditional bank wire, I’d have to pay between $35-$45 in fees & wait between 3-5 business days for you to get your money. It’s because blockchain technology’s autonomous nature allows for transactions to take place directly from one person to another without the need for third-party services to regulate the transaction. It simply facilitates the transaction for cheaper & faster. It’s also extremely secure. Not only is its foundation based on cryptography, but its decentralized nature means there’s no single access point in which hackers can exploit it, making vulnerabilities within the system practically non-existent. Basing it in one specific location makes it “centralized.” Blockchains are “decentralized,” meaning their information is stored on thousands, if not, millions, of network computers all across the globe. Any hacker looking to taint the data would have to access each & every one of these computers at the same exact time! Ledgers based on blockchain technology are also open & public, making them easily verifiable. Anyone can view any transaction for any amount at any time, while still keeping user identity anonymous. Additionally, it’s designed to check in with itself in a sort of self-auditing manner. Satoshi Nakamoto was the first to conceptualize & implement blockchain technology when he introduced Bitcoin to the public. As I said before, the Bitcoin blockchain is upheld by a network of nodes that verify each & every transaction in a process as “mining.” Mining involves setting up a computer & connecting it to Bitcoin’s blockchain network using a client designed specifically for validating & relaying transactions. Once connected, the computer is automatically required to download a copy of the entire blockchain. It’s at this point that the computer can begin solving complex mathematical puzzles to verify transactions in a process called “proof-of-work.” Once a puzzle has been solved, the transaction is added into a block, a new copy of the ledger is distributed to the entire network, & the miner is rewarded with a certain amount of Bitcoin. Now, say you’ve sent me 1 BTC, the transaction has been verified, & it’s been added to the latest block; since then, another newer block has been created & added to the chain. It’s said that the block in which our transaction can be located is “1 block deep.” Most merchants & exchanges won’t consider the transaction confirmed until it’s 6 blocks deep or more. Doing so prevents any possibility of double-spending from occurring. These days, a new group of BTC transactions is accepted & formed into a block every 10 minutes on average. There are currently over 1,100 new cryptocurrencies available, most of which use different technology. Bitcoin’s primary function is a transfer of value directly from one person to another...but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. One such other cryptocurrency is Ethereum, which we’ll discuss in further detail later since it warrants its own video. To give you the gist of it though, Ethereum allows for smart contracts to function & also acts as a platform for developers to create & deploy other decentralized applications aka “Dapps.” Storj will take your photos, break each photo up into smaller files, encrypt each file for safety & security purposes, then distribute them to be stored across other hard drives within the Storj network. Catena: Efficient Non-equivocation via Bitcoin

18:46
Catena: Efficient Non-equivocation via Bitcoin Alin Tomescu (MIT) Presented at the 2017 IEEE Symposium on Security & Privacy May 22–24, 2017 San Jose, CA http://www.ieee-security.org/TC/SP2017/ ABSTRACT We present Catena, an efficiently-verifiable Bitcoin witnessing scheme. Catena enables any number of thin clients, such as mobile phones, to efficiently agree on a log of application-specific statements managed by an adversarial server. Catena implements a log as an OP_RETURN transaction chain and prevents forks in the log by leveraging Bitcoin’s security against double spends. Specifically, if a log server wants to equivocate it has to double spend a Bitcoin transaction output. Thus, Catena logs are as hard to fork as the Bitcoin blockchain: an adversary without a large fraction of the network’s computational power cannot fork Bitcoin and thus cannot fork a Catena log either. However, different from previous Bitcoin-based work, Catena decreases the bandwidth requirements of log auditors from 90 GB to only tens of megabytes. More precisely, our clients only need to download all Bitcoin block headers (currently less than 35 MB) and a small, 600-byte proof for each statement in a block. We implement Catena in Java using the bitcoinj library and use it to extend CONIKS, a recent key transparency scheme, to witness its public-key directory in the Bitcoin blockchain where it can be efficiently verified by auditors. We show that Catena can secure many systems today, such as public-key directories, Tor directory servers and software transparency schemes.
